Hello IT Pro,

Welcome back to IT Pro Tuesday!

As always, we’re updating the full list on our website here. Enjoy.

But on with this week's tools...! Here are the most-interesting items that have come across our desks, laptops and phones this week. EveryCloud has no known affiliation with any of these unless we explicitly state otherwise.

Popular Repost: Tool

Autoruns shows you which programs are configured to run and when, with a knowledge of auto-starting locations that far exceeds other autostart utilities. Reports Explorer shell extensions, toolbars, browser helper objects, Winlogon notifications, auto-start services and more. malikto44 shares that when "used with VirusTotal, provides a very useful way to scan a Windows machine for any PUPs, should the need arise. It won't help with rootkits unless you scan offline, but it is useful."

Regular Expressions 101 is an online regex tester and debugger for PHP, PCRE, Python, Golang and Javascript. This recommedation comes from massenburger, who explains, "I'm a huge fan …. It really teaches you how regex actually works while you're attempting to write one for yourself."

A List

Awesome OSINT is a large, curated list of open-source intelligence tools and resources that collect data from publicly available sources. Many thanks go to CoronationStreetFan1 for pointing us to this one.

A Cheatsheet

Linux Cheatsheet for Beginners serves as a quick reference for all the essential commands to help those who are getting started with Linux. Appreciation to semicolonator for referring this useful resource.

Another Free Tool

LDWin (Link Discovery for Windows) is a simple answer to the question, "Where does this network cable/uplink/port go?" It gathers information from directly connected networking devices, which can be helpful when diagnosing suspected network connectivity issues. Suggested by DeMoB, who was happy to share an effective tool for this, adding: "I've spent a good chunk of time trying to find a way to utilise LLDP/CDP on Windows to report the device it's connected to. Frustratingly, Microsoft's implementation of NetLldpAgent just reports your current MAC address to the switch, which is pretty pointless."

P.S. Bonus Free Tools

Tier 2 Tickets is a front-end that integrates with most major ticketing systems. It offers technicians perfect documentation, better communication and the ability to start a ticket without guesswork. Grintor describes it as "a free (for 25 users) platform that automatically attaches diagnostic data and screenshots to all your support tickets in whatever PSA you use. Here is an example of a support ticket when using the platform."

A Windows 10 keyboard shortcut from starmizzle:
Win+Ctrl+C will toggle your display to grayscale mode if you have it enabled. Detailed instructions for enabling it can be found in this blog post.

Have a fantastic week and as usual, let me know any comments.
