Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series follows the adventures of Philip J. Fry, a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy who is cryogenically frozen and wakes up 1,000 years in the future. Fry joins the Planet Express delivery crew, a group of misfits who travel the universe delivering packages.
In 2023, it was announced that a new Futurama movie was in development. The movie, titled Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder, was released in 2025. The movie follows the Planet Express crew as they travel to a distant planet to deliver a package. Along the way, they encounter a variety of strange and wonderful creatures.
