The Jubilee in Rome, also known as the Holy Year or Year of Mercy, is a special Catholic observance that occurs every 25 years. During the Jubilee, the faithful are encouraged to make a pilgrimage to Rome to receive special indulgences and blessings. The Jubilee traditionally begins on 1 December of the preceding year and ends on the following November 30.
The Jubilee of 2025 will be the 35th Jubilee in the history of the Catholic Church. The theme of the Jubilee will be “Pilgrims of Hope.” The Jubilee will be a time for the faithful to reflect on the past, present, and future of the Church and to recommit themselves to living out their faith with joy and hope.
