Presidents Day 2025 falls on Monday, February 17th. This federal holiday honors all those who have served as President of the United States, and is celebrated on the third Monday of February each year.
Presidents Day was originally established in 1885 as Washington’s Birthday, a holiday honoring the first President of the United States, George Washington. In 1971, the holiday was expanded to include all U.S. presidents, and was renamed Presidents Day. The holiday is a time to reflect on the contributions of all the men who have served as President, and to celebrate the values of democracy and freedom that they have worked to uphold.
