Florida State University (FSU) is a public research university in Tallahassee, Florida. It is a member of the State University System of Florida and the Association of American Universities (AAU). Founded in 1851, FSU is one of the oldest universities in the state of Florida. It is also one of the largest universities in the United States, with an enrollment of over 40,000 students.
FSU’s athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I FBS and are known as the Seminoles. The university has a strong football program, having won three national championships in 1993, 1999, and 2013. FSU also has a strong basketball program, having won two national championships in 1970 and 1972. The Seminoles compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
