Project 2025 Vought is a United States Air Force program to develop a sixth-generation fighter aircraft. The program is named after former Air Force Chief of Staff General Hoyt S. Vandenberg, who was instrumental in the development of the F-22 Raptor. The F-22 Raptor is the Air Force’s current fifth-generation fighter aircraft.
The F-22 Raptor is a highly advanced fighter aircraft that has been in service since 2005. However, the Air Force is looking to develop a new fighter aircraft that will be even more advanced and capable than the F-22. The F-22 is designed to replace the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon, which are both fourth-generation fighter aircraft.
