Replacing a Whirlpool fridge water filter is a simple task that can be completed in a few minutes. A clean water filter not only enhances the taste and quality of your water and ice, but also prevents contaminants from building up in your fridge’s water system.
Most Whirlpool fridges have a water filter located behind the grille at the top of the fridge’s interior. To replace the filter, simply push the button on the grille to release it, then pull the old filter straight down to remove it. Insert the new filter into the housing and push up until it clicks into place. Reset the filter indicator light by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds.
